REHEARSALS
First Read-thru Wednesday, August 18th 7:30 to 10:30 pm at the Theatre.
BRING Resume, headshot, and calendar with any conflicts.
PREPARE
A contemporary monologue from a play under 90 seconds. No stand up routines.
For the role of MAMMY please be prepared to sing a few bars in whatever style you are most comfortable.
Character Descriptions
MALES
Tessman/Others: Caucasian, 30 to mid 40's, bookish, physically facile.
Steven/Others: Caucasian, 20-50, fey, any weight/height, excellent comic timing.
Patrick/Others: Any ethnicity, 20-50, fey, any weight/height, excellent comic timing.
Lovborg/Others: Any ethnicity, 30 to mid 40's, sexy, fit.
FEMALES
Hedda: Caucasian, 30's, striking, sharp, with a little more pluck than Ibsen's Hedda.
Mammy: 30 - mid 40's, African- American, robust, able to sell a song, Gone With the Wind's Mammy who transforms into a modern role model.
Medea/Others: 30-50's, any ethnicity, powerful voice, Lady Macbeth meets Bea Arthur.
Diane/Others: 20-40 African-American, attractive, fit, great mover.
Thea/others: 20-30, any ethnicity, tiny, physical, girlish.
