AUDITIONS: THE WILD PARTY

S2205_Wildparty.jpg

A steamy prohibition tale that steamrolled and roared its way across the stage, Andrew Lippa's Wild Party was an Off-Broadway gem that garnered an array of industry accolades, including Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Obie awards. Based on Joseph Moncure March's 1928 narrative poem of the same name, this darkly brilliant show features one of the most exciting, pulse-racing scores ever written.

(Though Wild Party is a sexually driven show, our goal is to create a stylized interpretation of events using different dance techniques and movement styles without relying on overt sexualization. No nudity, but the cast will have scantily clad moments in period undergarments; the script also contains stage violence.)

SPECIAL NOTE

This production was set to open back on March 14, 2020. Most of the cast and production crew have returned, but we need to fill a few key roles. Understudies and swings will have guaranteed performances. For the most part we are keeping the same choreography and blocking so rehearsals will be efficient and new cast members will be given time to get up to speed. The rest of the roles not listed below have already been cast.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

In reference to the character descriptions that follow—most characters we encounter currently are on the gender binary and are written with he/him or she/her pronouns and you will see that in the following descriptions. But, however limiting the descriptions are, our casting seeks to be

as inclusive as possible and we invite gender non-conforming, gender-fluid, transgender and non-binary actors to submit for the roles they most identify with.

We will also list race/ethnicity when specific to the character but are otherwise seeking all races and ethnicities; we encourage Arab, Asian, Black, Caucasian, Latino, Native, and Multiracial actors to audition for all roles. In addition, we will list disability when specific to a character, but are otherwise seeking actors with disabilities as well as non-disabled actors for all roles. Please let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or if there are any accommodations we can provide.

We are actively committed to casting an inclusive show that reflects the community.
