42nd Street

November 10, 2018 through December 15, 2018
Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm
The ultimate show-biz musical, 42nd Street celebrates Broadway, Times Square, and the people who make the magic of musical theatre. Aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer comes to the big city from Allentown, PA, and soon lands her first big job in the ensemble of a glitzy new Broadway show. But just before opening night, the leading lady breaks her ankle. Will Peggy be able to step in and become a star? Between setbacks and growth as both a performer and a young woman. Peggy conquers the city as the cast tap dances into your heart with iconic musical numbers including "We're in the Money", "Lullaby of Broadway", "Shuffle Off to Buffalo", and the title song, "42nd Street."

About the Director
Anne is once again at the helm of the 23rd Annual Youth Musical. Nothing inspires her more than working with these talented kids/young adults. She truly believes that children can achieve anything they set their minds to, and being a part of that process is the greatest joy of her life. It takes a village to raise a child, and she is grateful to all the parents that share their children with her. Anne has directed all 23 Youth Musicals, and has also directed numerous productions for Y.E.S. Anne has been at the MWT for 32 years, and has directed and/or music directed well over 100 productions here. She is an eleven time Geoffrey Award winner for Best Director, and has even won Best Costume Design a few times. She was honored to have been recognized with an Outstanding Direction Award for Chicago and Crazy For You and Best Music Direction Award for Chicago, Crazy For You, and Spelling Bee from StageSceneLA, and to have received the award for Best Director and Best Music Director from the NAACP for Chicago. She is a Board member at the MWT and co-founder of the Youth Education/ Entertainment Series (Y.E.S.). She also works at a law firm to support her theatre habit.
