An abridged version By William Shakespeare

William Wilday has devoted 47 years to the Morgan-Wixson Theatre, contributing to nearly every aspect of its life both onstage and behind the scenes. Born in Tennessee and involved in theatre most of his life, Bill’s Morgan-Wixson journey began when he was cast in "The Mind With a Dirty Man", directed by Evans Davis, father of Ann B. Davis, and he quickly became a cornerstone of the theatre as an actor, director, designer, and technician. He directed his first MainStage production in 1983, "The Man Who Came to Dinner", and has since directed more than 35 plays, including "What the Butler Saw", "Fences", "Picnic", and "The Crucible", earning three Geoffrey Awards for his work. Beyond directing, Bill has designed countless sets and lighting plots, worked tirelessly backstage, served on the Board and as an officer, chaired committees, supported rentals, and continues to serve on the Board, oversees Rentals, and is our Technical Director. In 2000, Bill founded the Morgan-Wixson's children’s theatre program The Rainbow Factory, the precursor to our current YES program, producing fourteen shows over four years. For nearly five decades, he has given countless hours in service as a member of the Santa Monica Theatre Guild, the theatre he calls home.
